Press Release – 28% off supermarket voucher admin fees

28% OFF SUPERMARKET VOUCHER ADMIN FEES ALLOW ORGANISATIONS TO DISTRIBUTE MORE FOR LESS ON CHARIS SHOP

Charis Grants Ltd, the UK’s leading administrator of hardship grants and funds, has announced a nationwide discount of 28 per cent on the administrative fees on supermarket vouchers charged through its Charis Shop. This discount will enable the 489 charities, local authorities, and Citizens Advice Bureaus who use the Charis Shop platform to increase the amount of support they can distribute to vulnerable households across the UK by tens of thousands of pounds.

Clients who subscribe to the online Charis Shop are not charged any fees or subscription costs; however, a standard admin fee is charged per voucher, which covers the costs involved in terms of eligibility checking, distribution, and back-end reporting. From 1 November to 31 December 2022, Charis is applying a 28 per cent discount to its shop admin fees, enabling organisations to invest further in helping those who need it most.

Charis Business development director, Oliver Gray, commented:

“We already know that energy costs are going through the roof, but food costs have also risen by 14.6 per cent over the last year – this is the biggest jump that the UK has seen since 1980. The perfect storm of energy, food and fuel is going to squeeze households on every side, and Christmas is looking grim. These discounts will enable our clients to directly support vulnerable households.

“As well as increasing costs, the number of people in need of financial aid is growing rapidly, meaning the organisations we work with are experiencing demand like never before. Consequently, we’re looking to alleviate the strain of our clients and the struggles of those in need,” continued Oliver Gray.

Today, 489 client accounts are registered on the Charis Shop platform, and approximately 80,000 transactions are made on the shop monthly. Meanwhile, over £20 million in funds are administered annually to facilitate aid for those eligible. An individual’s eligibility can be assessed via the online shop when they approach their local authority or a local charity for help, meaning aid can be provided quickly and efficiently.

Charis Grants Ltd is a privately owned company established in 2003 to facilitate the distribution of funds and grants by energy companies, charities, housing associations and other bodies, such as the Citizens Advice Bureau, which help and support vulnerable people in the community.
