Helping to deliver vital support

Charis facilitates the distribution of financial support, products and services to vulnerable households on behalf of local authorities, charities, citizen’s advice, housing providers and more.

The Charis Shop is our one stop e-commerce platform which our partners access to deliver personalised support in the form of vouchers, appliances, digital devices and furniture to individuals and families, efficiently and cost effectively.

SAHWR (St Albans and Hertsmere Women’s Refuge) told us, “For some families, we send retail vouchers so they can buy clothes. For others, we’ve ordered beds and energy efficient appliances so that they can furnish and equip a new home.”

For them, as with many of our partners, personalised support is important. They provided one young woman with vouchers enabling her to decorate and make her accommodation feel more like the home she needed for her new start.

And SAY Women, who support homeless, sexually abused young women, explained, “The Charis Shop has enabled us to direct donations straight to the young women in the form of supermarket, energy and clothing vouchers, and give the young women a lifeline when they most need it.”

Physical products are delivered to the recipient’s door whilst vouchers are delivered in real time by email or SMS, depending on their preference.
