Salary: £35,000-£45,000.00 per year (depending on experience) + incentive scheme
Work Location: Peterborough, PE1 1DA, with some hybrid working
Main Purpose of the job
To drive the achievement of challenging sales targets, to enable councils, housing associations, charities and other organisations to help more vulnerable people, by developing and managing a high performing sales team.
The right candidate will have a passion for both sales and leadership, experienced in sales techniques & methodologies, with a proven history of closing deals and exceeding sales targets, and experience in coaching and inspiring a team to succeed.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage, mentor and guide the office-based sales team to achieve agreed sales targets in a positive sales environment. Comfortable giving feedback and managing to targets
- Remove barriers to drive a culture of high performance, maintaining the systems and data needed to accurately measure team success
- Create a Charis appropriate approach that builds long term relationships and meets partner needs, reviewing and improving sales techniques and call scripts
- Ensure that all team members have a clear sense of their role and responsibilities, areas and targets. Monitor and feedback on individual performance both informally and formally
- Coach and energise team to ensure standards are maintained and identify opportunities for process improvements and team development
- Hit own sales targets, and cover for team with customer meetings when required
- Manage sales operations – CRM (Hubspot), governance, KPI’s, reporting.
- Work with the Commercial Director on sector reviews, key trends and sales strategy. Keep up to date with products and competitors
- Work with Finance on forecasting and on the effective analysis of marketing and sales data
- Work with Marketing to follow up on leads generated and suggest future marketing campaigns to drive growth
- Promote a ‘can do’ culture within team and communicate business plans positively and professionally
Person Specification
- Minimum of five years of experience of B2B sales
- Proven experience in leading a sales team to meet and exceed sales targets
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on customer service, relationship building and coaching
- Able to make difficult, unpopular decisions when appropriate based on logic rather than emotion
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- Familiarity with CRM systems, particularly Hubspot, and MS Office, particularly Excel, and confident in ability to analyse data
- Likely to be degree-educated
