HR Manager

Location Peterborough

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 (depending on experience)

Reports To: People and Customer Director

 

Main Purpose of the Job

To provide an efficient and effective HR and Payroll service, supporting the business with day to day generalist HR support.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of policies to drive performance and improve employee engagement
  • Identify training requirements for employees that support business goals and put in place training and development plans, via the Charis academy, sourcing appropriate training deliverables, both internal and external
  • Manage monthly Payroll and keep information on HR Portal (IRIS) up to date
  • Lead recruitment and selection activity, reviewing processes, preparing job descriptions, interview plans
  • Liaise with recruitment agencies to support recruitment for specialist roles
  • Manage talent and succession planning process
  • Manage employee relations casework including disciplinaries, grievances and absence
  • Participate in the implementation of specific projects to support goals e.g. HR Systems, policy, payroll, benefits
  • Support change management process that involve organisational structure and HR process changes
  • Support and lead employee engagement activities
  • Carry out administrative support as needed and to ensure smooth running of the function

 

Knowledge, Experience and Competencies

  • Excellent Communication Skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent knowledge of HR and Payroll legislation, policies and procedures
  • Sound experience of dealing with Employee Relations
  • Professional and confidential approach
  • Ability to manage relationships at all levels
  • IT skills including Microsoft packages and HR systems
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills
  • Attention to detail
  • CIPD qualified
